A STUDY ON URBAN IMMERSION DISASTER IN RESERVOIR REGION OF THE THREE GORGES PROJECT

There have been immerged and occurred immersion disaster around terrace near level of 180m of Changjiang river and urban where encircled a bank and filled, while normal pool level of 175m in the reservoir of the Three Gorges Project( abbr. TGP). According to investigated results, it had been known that the typical immersion disaster regions in the reservoir of TGP are Chongqing Jiangbei Luoqi town, valley of alluvial plain in Kaixian county new city site, Chongqing, and Gufu town in Xinshan county new city site, Hubei province. Besides, the section of the road routing bank and slope or landslide protected inboard are easier informing immersion in the reservoir of TGP. Immersion not only developed swamp, which made city groundwater not free, but increased pore water press in foundation, fallen effective stress and strength of foundation that presented harm of city structure. Consequently, it is one of the main environment geological problems in migratory construction of TGP. This paper analyzed the conditions of geological environment, groundwater damming and harm, and influence for city construction in example of Chongqing Jiangbei Luoqi city.
