Integrating Synchrophasor Technology into Power System Protection Applications

摘要

This paper analyzes the potential for using synchrophasors for protection system applications. This paper offers a review of synchrophasor data communication, latency and timing as well as an analysis of protection schemes including differential, step distance, out-of-step and oscillatory stability protection and the potential for using Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) data.
