Analytical Framework for Estimation of Uncertainties in Fault Tree

Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) plays an important role in probabilistic safety / risk assessment. In general, however, data used in FTA, such as failure/repair rates, have uncertainties. Hence it is necessary to evaluate quantitatively the data uncertainties in analysis results. This paper presents a new and practical framework for quantitative evaluation of data uncertainties in FTA.
