摘要

The paper discusses several important methodology aspects of Level-1 Internal Fire Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) and results of a study for Unit 5 of Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant performed in the framework of international project SWISRUS. The paper considers the major contributors to the core damage frequency due to fires, insights obtained, and lessons leaned. It was shown that the fire risk could be significant and fire PSA results provide a basis for the decisions on measures aimed at decreasing the associated risk.
