Developing Soft Factors Inputs to Common Cause Failure Models

The paper discusses the use of Influence Diagrams to modify the Unified Partial Method (UPM), which constitutes the current approach of the UK towards Common Cause Failure (CCF) modelling. The suggested approach attempts to sustain the 'soft' elements of the UPM, while creating a context for using the information incorporated in the International CCF Data Exchange (ICDE) database.
