When several alternatives are available for technology or support, Markovian or semi-Markovian models provide a powerful decision. The first case study occurred during development phase. The sustain or change of specific technology was aided considering the number of additional maintenance actions predicted. This was made possible considering a Markov process. The second case study took place during service phase. A global semi-Markovian model allowed solving the question of allowable flight time when hydraulic filter clogging indication is lost.
