摘要

Risk assessment is one of the crucial problems in analysis of the safety of drifting rescuernunits (DRU – life boats and life rafts). An assessment of negative effects of the influence of stormrnconditions is an essential problem. The paper reviews the foundations for mathematical models ofrnDRU safety under changing operational condition. The multi regime-switching model combines setsrnof model parameters into one system and which set of parameters should be applied depends onrnMarkov chain. The article presents an introduction to the model formulation and its application using arnconception of a switching random variable between different conditions, as tools for the riskrnassessment for individual types of drifting rescue units.
