Live Tank Circuit Breakers: Design for 1100kV Network based on 800kV AREVA TD Experience

Thanks to a 40 years experience in 800kV breaker, AREVA is proposing a four chambers SF6 breakers for 1100kV rated voltages. In short circuit, all demonstration done in two-chamber circuit breaker 550kV serves as demonstration for 1100kV circuit breaker with four chambers per pole. As dielectric aspect, it's interesting to note that dimensioning values is surely the switching impulse voltage or the power frequency voltage. As mechanical aspect, all models already tested and computerised permit us to calculate and propose a complete secured solution.
