Automatic Video Editing by Filmic Decomposition of Non-Filmic Queries

In this paper we describe an approach to generic automatic intelligent video editing, whcih has been implemented in the LIVE system. We discuss Cinema Theory, and earlier systems which recombine film fragments into sequences. We introduce our system, describing the implementation and the main components of the systme architecutre. We then examine the generaic film fragment generation rules implemented within the system. with examples, Finally, we discuss the fulture direction of our research.
