A taper measurement system for taper gauges was established to meet the needs of domestic machine tool manufacturing companies.The system combines the measurement of integer and decimal together,so small angle interferometer is one of the most important parts.Some important error factors that influence the small angle measurement were discussed,and then parameter calibration methods were proposed.By using a "positive-negative rotation method",the zero-angle position can be easily calibrated.In order to calibrate the sinusoidal arm length,an inverse deducing method was proposed.The experiments show that the standard deviation of the small angle interferometer is up to 0.02″ compared with national angle standard.
