Experiments of compatibility of Lithium titanate (Li_2TiO_3, tritium breeding materials) with tungsten(W) were done by Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy (RBS) to obtain data of its feasibility as blanket materials for fusion reactors. Bulk crystals of Li_2TiO_3 were prepared by a floating zoon melting technique equipped with two halogen lamps . A thin film of W of 100 nm in thickness was deposited by magnetron sputtering technique on the surface of the crystal. After heat treatment at 400℃in a chamber for the RBS experiment (10~6 Pa), the reaction profiles of Li_2TiO_3 and W were examined by the RBS technique. After heat treatment at 400℃ for 300 s , small amount of W migrated to the Li_2TiO_3 crystal, while neither titanium nor oxygen atoms diffuse into the W film, and some titanium rich compound was formed near the interface. Further heat treatment to 5700 s, this trend was accelerated.
