CERAMIC ION CONDUCTING MEMBRANES

摘要

Three main ceramic membrane devices can be defined. An electrically driven separator/pump for aerospace and medical applications, and two further pressure driven devices for (ⅰ) the bulk industrial separation of oxygen, and (ⅱ) Ceramic Membrane Reactors (CMR's) e.g. for the conversion of natural gas to syngas, as part of a gas-to-liquid fuel conversion plant. The mass transport properties required for candidate materials for membrane devices are discussed including the key parameter of the surface oxygen exchange coefficient.
