摘要

In general, Hydrodynamic processes are relatively cheap and easy to use. However, a potential problem with these techniques has previously existed that, once mobilised, the control of the sediment was limited and its final destination difficult to predict.rnVan Oord, in co-operation with various Clients and Research Institutions, have undertaken extensive research to demonstrate the impacts of Water Injection Dredging on the Environment. Through this research, Van Oord and Delft Hydraulics have developed a two-dimensional model (The "Rapid Assessment Tool") to represent the Water Injection Dredging process and assess the production rates and transportation distances that can be expected in specific applications. The model is particularly suitable to studies in estuarine waters as it is capable of assessing the fluctuating velocity profiles caused by the interaction between fresh and salt water and tidal currents.
