Forms of contract and methods of measurement

In this paper I will review how the nature of dredging and reclamation works has been addressed in the various forms of contract published by FIDIC and how, from a quantum point of view, the method of payment and measurement impact on the risk profile.rnThe Red Book 3rd and 4th editions of the Conditions of Contract for Civil Engineering Works published by FIDIC, recognise that dredging and reclamation works require special consideration. However FIDIC have not given any consideration to dredging and reclamation work in the 1999 suite of FIDIC contracts, which comprise of:rn1. Red Book - Conditions of Contract for Construction for Building and Engineering Works Designed by the Employer,rn2. Yellow Book - Conditions of Contract for Plant and Design-Build,rn3. Silver Book - Conditions of Contract for EPC/Turnkey Projects,rn4. Green Book - Short Form of Contract.
