Intellectual Property in Current Hi - tech Industry - Case Study of Shenzhen Hi - tech Enterprises

With the globalization of economy, Chinese companies have encountered intellectual property (IP) issues with foreign companies. Chinese firms respond to this new challenge in different ways. This paper addresses this issue and discusses the intellectual property protection (IPP) in technical innovation in oriented industry based on in - depth interviews with selected hi - tech companies in Shenzhen. Our study reveals a pattern of how hi - tech companies tend to respond to IPP issues and analyzes how the pattern develops from the perspective of technical innovation, IPP cost, IP expertise, market structures and IP environment. Related issues are addressed at the end of the paper as a guideline for fu-ture studies.
