KOPIO EXPERIMENT AT BNL

摘要

This note contains a sketch of the goals and design for the KOPIO experiment, which will run at BNL. Designed to measure the branching ratio for the rare decay mode K_L → π~0 vv as predicted by the Standard Model, KOPIO will provide a measure of the height of the Unitarity Triangle. The height of the triangle, taken in conjunction with data on the decay mode K~+ → π~+ vv, completely characterizes CP Violation in the SM.
