Wind energy connected to the power systems will affect the system reliability and stability, resulting from the stochastic nature of the wind speed. The effects become more and more obvious as the increase of the proportion that the wind energy takes, making it necessary to study the system performance after the integration of wind power. Probabilistic optimal power flow analysis is widely employed when the stochastic factors of the power systems are included, to study the statistic characteristics of the objective value. Point estimate method is one of the major mathematical methods to utilize probabilistic optimal power flow calculation in conventional power systems. This paper presents a new method of using two point estimate method in probabilistic dispatch problem of power systems integrated with wind energy.
