TAMILNADU ELECTRICITY BOARD-SCADA SYSTEM FOR CHENNAI DISTRIBUTION CONTROL CENTRE

Chennai Metropolitan area and part of suburban is fed by 230 kv, 110 kv and 333 kv substations located within a radius of 20 kms. The majority of Transmission and Distribution network consists of U.G. cable rating from 230 kv down to L.T. The total power demand is around 1500 MW. In order to streamline the operation of the much grown Distribution network, particularly 33 kv and 11kv, Tamilnadu Electricity Board has decided to establish a control center at Chennai with modern control facilities incorporating the major use of the Information Technology and the Communication to improve the overall efficiency of network operation and management which will meet the consumer requirement of quality and reliability of power at the least price.
