Rapid Tooling, Rapid Prototyping Rapid Tooling Based on Rapid Prototyping

Rapid Prototyping(RP) technology has been developing very rapidly, and had wide application range. Rapid Tooling (RT) is one of its important applications . There are many Rapid Tooling measures based on rapid prototyping, the commercial RP systems have been using in RT. Various making measures have various manufacturing difficulty in tooling, and the Various tools has made have different working life. The RT measures arc classified as three kinds and give a discussion in this paper. First it is used to make very short life tool, secondly to manufacture a period life tool which is made of two or more of kind materials, final assist to make metal tool, and analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of every RT means.
