Condition assessment of important concrete structure is quite significant for its safety, future usefulness and adopting effective restoration scheme if required. Particularly in case of an industrial structure, where the performance of the structure is directly related to the operational efficiency, the significance of condition assessment is further enhanced to ensure the efficient delivering of its functional utility with adequate safety. In this proposed paper a case study of a Turbo-generator concrete foundation structural assessment is presented. Non-destructive testing of concrete along with vibration monitoring of the machine foundation can be a reliable methodology for effectively assessing the status of the structure. Extensive ultrasonic pulse velocity testing at different location and in different direction has been incorporated for the qualitative assessment of the concrete. Vibrations at different location are measured and compared with the specified permissible values. The importance of the correlation between the analytical model and the test result on a real life structure is established. Dynamic analysis of structure is a vital tool to predict the structural behavior as a whole. It is also noted that the proper understanding of the machine-foundation interaction will lead to evaluate the deterioration mechanism and to ensure the durability of the structure.
