The evolution of the building envelope has resulted in challenging situations that designers face today - the need for several experts to collaborate in order to integrate various systems with the building envelope. This collaboration is exasperated as the technologies and systems get more complex every day. The Internet can facilitate such collaboration through portals created by consortia for knowledge sharing. Such a portal developed by building industry professionals and academic institutions, aiming to create a comprehensive online resource of information, is presented. This portal takes advantage of the possibilities of the Internet for sharing current information from sources throughout the world.
