INNOVATIVE MANUFACTURE OF OLEFIN FOAMS

摘要

A novel method for the preparation of olefin foams has been developed. Conventional production of olefin foam is hindered by the poor heat transfer of the starting materials which is then made worse by the formation of the foam-inherently good insulators because of the trapped gas. A batch technique in which a combination of conventional heating to expand the surface of the material and microwave heating to expand the interior has been developed. Good quality foams have been prepared using this technique.
