Spring wheat is the main irrigated crop in arid and semi-arid areas of Inner Mongolia. However, precipitation in these areas is not well distributed seasonally and spatially, water resources are very scarce. Water, under such environmental conditions, is not only a restraint factor for crop production, but also a dominant factor. When water available for irrigation is limited, deficit irrigation is used to optimize water distribution in the growing period, thus providing irrigated areas (systems) with the maximum net income, Obviously, it is of great significance in applying deficit irrigation to these areas. In deficit irrigation, it is essential to determine sensitivity index as a result of water deficit. Based on deficity irrigation experiments, this paper established forecasting models of sensitivity index λ_I for spring wheat, these models are physical statistic ones that would be references for those places where models' parameters could be attained.
