摘要

This paper provides a new fault detection algorithm for improving reliability of smart structures. The proposed method is based on subspace state space system identification (4SID) and consists of a recursive 4SID algorithm for generating the residual signal sequentially and a generalized likelihood ratio test for making on-line decision. It is shown by the hardware experiment on a flexible smart beam that the proposed algorithm is highly effective in detecting abrupt change in the characteristics of the closed-loop system by using the measured displacement data.
