Changes of the Content of Serum NO and NOS Activity in Workers Exposed to Low Temperature

[Objective] To investigate the content of serum NO and NOS activity in the workers exposed to low temperature. [Methods] 53 workers working in cold storage and 53 workers working in a freezer were selected as groups exposed to low temperature, and 58 unexposed as a control group. The venous blood was sampled after work and the serum was separated for the detection of NO content and NOS activity. [Results] Compared with the control group, the exposed group showed that NO content and NOS activity increased significantly (P < 0.01). [Conclusion] Low temperature could increase the content of serum NO and NOS activity among exposed workers.
