This paper reports that a double-low cytoplasmic male sterile (CMS) line 99A01―3 and its maintainer 99B01―3 were obtained by continuous selection toward higher oleic acid for three years. The analysis of their fatty acid composition resulted that the oleic acid of the both was above 67%, much higher than the ordinary low erucic acid cultivars. The CMS line, which the sterile percentage reached 100%, had excellent comprehensive agronomic characters and high combining ability as well.
