Distribution network planning has the characteristics of large scale, uncertainty, indefiniteness, multiple factors and wide area of involvement. Currently, relying on the expert experience of planners to carry out the distribution network planning work is far from meeting the needs of modern city distribution network planning requirements. With the development of big data and the increasingly maturity of application in power industry, the professional business management has been improved to varying degrees. In this article, we will study the application of electric power big data in distribution network planning and management, and try to solve the existing deficiencies in distribution network planning and management by introducing the idea and technology of big data, in the meantime, enhance the distribution network planning and management with achievement of scientific, feasible and economical distribution network planning.
