A Curved LCD with 0.15 mm-thick Glass Substrates

We have developed curved liquid crystal display with thin glass substrates. And we pretreated substrates in cell assembly for strengthening because thin glasses lower than 0.5 mm thickness are too brittle for portable LCD products. A novel cell was prepared by chemical treatment on the glass surface after polishing 0.5 mm thick glass to 0.15 mm. The radius of curvature and deflection of curved slim LCD are 330 mm and 20 mm, respectively.
