The dynamic keypad security system is designed and implemented in this study to demonstrate a possibility to overcome the information leakage and replay attack on a physical access-granting security system. IR sensors, key order scrambling technique, and OTP are incorporated in the system. The authentication is processed on IoT. During the experiment, the system did not fail any authentication when given an accurate input. The average process time, from the request initiation through the authorization after entering the password, is less than 25 s. The outcomes of the experiments demonstrate the feasibility and potential use of this system in the real-world setting.
