The purpose of the study was to assess the new structure of steel bracket supporting a double-span crane runway girders based on the stress distribution in the bracket. In order to simplify the connection, the bottom flange of the crane runway girder is based directly on the upper flange of the bracket. The support reaction is no longer applied in the plane of the bracket web, but it is carried as a pressure. Known analytical methods are not sufficient to assess the level of the bracket material effort. That is why the FE analysis was performed. Twisting of the bracket caused by eccentric load (in addition to the biaxial bending) was observed. What is more it occurred that transverse stiffeners in the bracket structure generate high stress.
