The Internet has greatly influenced the world of communication and scientific activity, and in every aspect of a cycle, until things have been turned upside down, and even today it is said that the pre-spider world and the world beyond can be separated. One of the most striking effects of this in the information sector is that, in recent years, libraries have become their own beneficiaries, after thousands of years have gone by themselves to libraries. The activities of libraries and documentation centers aim at maximizing the usefulness of available information and expertise and providing research efforts so that scientific research becomes an area for actual investment rather than a drain on material and human resources. The researcher studied the current status of digital libraries in different institutions and information centers in Sudan. The questionnaire was distributed to a number of research and ministerial information institutions. The sample size was considered to be nine Sudanese institutions The researcher discussed the initiative of the National Research Center in the establishment of the Sudanese digital library and its role in the educational work and scientific research and the steps through which the Sudanese digital library project can be established at the level of systems and software.
