On the background of the general necessity for power electronic equipment to rise efficiency and to avoid power dissipation, especially in high switching frequency applications, a simple, reliable circuit is presented, which allows to recover snubber energy by using a self oscillating DC to DC converter. The features of the circuit are pointed out by measurements. The universal applicability is experimentally proved in three different types of power converters for electrical drives.
