Distributed Control System (DCS) vendorsrnare now offering simulation-friendly solutionsrnintegrated as part of their basic DCS packagernoffering. These solutions enable simulators thatrnreplicate the full functionality of the plantrncontrol system including operator andrnengineering functions at lower costs thanrnpreviously thought possible. The features andrnarchitectures of several application packages arernsummarized, and implicationsregarding overallrnsimulator cost and future use benefits arernprojected.
