A METHODOLOGY FOR EVALUATION OF MANAGEMENT STYLES OF DISTRIBUTED AGENTS SYSTEMS FOR MANUFACTURING INFORMATION SYSTEMS

In this paper, we describe a methodology for the evaluation of the management styles of the distributed agent systems in the manufacturing information systems. There are many advantages for the management in the manufacturing information system to introduce the distributed agents system using the network system. But it gives cause for anxiety that the system is getting complex. Therefore, we investigate what is the cause of the complexity in the management of the distributed agents. We, firstly, decide that the target system is the shop system including the four cells, three machines in a cell, because we judge that this is the smallest size to analyze and evaluate the system, and is the most appropriate. We, next, make four simulation models to characterize the management styles. These four styles are defined based on how to distribute the system into the agents. And we choose the significant parameters for each management style such as the number of agents, the total agents' ability and the wire length. Finally, we implement the simulation system using these significant parameters to evaluate the management styles.
