The insertion of the communication network in the Internet-based control system can induce time-delay, which can degrade the performance of control system and even destabilize the system. To overcome the uncertain Internet time-delay influencing the dynamic performance of control system, the dual closed-loops control with variable-rate sampling strategy is proposed based on the traditional control architecture. The local closed-loop control is running at a higher frequency to stabilize the plant, the remote closed-loop control at a lower frequency to reduce the communication load and increase the possibility of receiving data on time. To deal with large Internet timedelay and data loss fully, the time-delay compensation method is designed based on predictive controller. The effectiveness of the proposed compensation strategy is illustrated by simulation study.
