Perceived maturity of IS departments and the deployment of systems development methodologies

This paper investigates the relationship between the perceived maturity of an Information Systems department and the deployment of systems development methodologies. The results show that organizations roughly follow the maturity levels of the CMM, but not in the way as prescribed. The results also indicate that as organizations mature systems development method-ology use increases significantly.
