The Development and Applications of NCC-couplers

摘要

A novel coupler which does not form an azomethine dye but forms an almost colorless cyclization product by the intramolecular nucleophilic substitution reaction involving the nitrogen atom of the coupling product between this coupler and an oxidized developing agent was developed. We call this coupler a "NCC(Noncolor Cyclic Compound forming)-coupler". Since the NCC-coupler hardly contributes to the color formation , it can be used in any layers in a silver halide color photographic material as a coupler which releases a photographically useful compound or a photographically inert compound on the reaction with an oxidized developing agent.
