摘要

The development of river water resources in karst regions is important to promote the economicrndevelopment in the south parts of China. As the pace of development is accelerated and the number of steprnreservoirs increased, it is urgently needed to deal with the problem of reservoir sediment control,rndownstream river degradation and ecological preservation. This paper, by taking the example of the TangyarnRiver in the western karst area of Hubei Province, probes into the law of reservoir sediment, advances thernconcept of “harnessing rivers with reservoirs, scouring sediment with water, and storing clear water torndischarge muddy water”, proposes all-round measures for step hydropower planning, reservoir sedimentrndischarge, optimal operation, shoreline protection, water and soil conservation, downstream bank protection,rnriver pattern stabilization and ecological flow preservation, so it is realistically significant to reservoirrnsediment control and ecological preservation.
