Both the three-dimensional potential theory and the composite Green function of restricted water depth are applied to the hydroelastic analysis of a very large FPSO in shallow water in the present paper. The numerical arithmetic of composite Green function and its derivative of restricted water depth are carried out first, and then transplant it to the three-dimensional theory to form the three-dimensional hydroelastic method which can be used to analyse the ocean structure in shallow water. A 300K DWT FPSO has been calculated by the method in the paper, and the results show that the effect of water depth on wave-induced loads in various water-depth are quite different.
