EXTENDING THE RANGE OF ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT USING INTERNET

The growth of the Internet as a new social and business environment has attractedrnmany more persons into environmental impact assessment and resulting decisionmakingrnprocesses. However, it is necessary to provide these people with tools thatrnassist them in making judgements, which may be described as judgement engines.rnThis paper presents the conception and realisation of one client/server component ofrnan Internet-distributed judgement engine for environmental impact assessment calledrnWeb-MikeImpact, built upon the MikeImpact judgement engine of the DanishrnHydraulic Institute.
