Convection overshooting is a long-standing theoretical problem in the theory of stellar evolution. Although its research has a history of nearly 50 years, up to the present there are still many misunderstandings in the recognition of the structure about overshooting zone. The cause is that our understanding of overshooting still rests on the picture of phenomenological mixing length throry. With a non-local convection model, this paper reveals the structure of convection overshooting zone. In the lower overshooting zone of the Sun, the temperature gradient is subadiabatic and super-radiative, and there is no any near discontinuity in temperature gradient. In the present paper a brief review of stellar convection is also presented.
