Unit step responses (USRs) of an impulsernvoltage measuring system have been calculated by arnFinite-Difference Time-Domain method for variousrnconditions of the laboratory floor. The conductivity ofrnfloor below the metal sheet of a high voltagernlaboratory, which has been ignored so far, has turnedrnout to influence the USR parameters significantly.rnThe influence of the relative permittivity and thernwidth of metal sheet for ground is less than that of thernconductivity of the floor.
