摘要

Our results show that a pseudo-boehmite precursormaterial can be chemically modified with divalentcationic species, for example, Nickel, to create aneffective getter for anionic species. The viability of thisnovel class of materials is established by a variety ofcharacterization methods, including surface areameasurements, scanning electron microscopy, elementalanalysis, and sorption capacity measurements. We willpresent the results of sorption capacity and surface areameasurements that show the high sorption capacity of thisnovel class of getter materials. Our study shows that thedivalent cation modification can increase the sorptioncapacity by as much as a factor of two.
