HELIOSEISMOLOGY FROM THE BLUE AND RED WINGS OF THE NA PROFILE AS SEEN BY GOLF

GOLF (Global Oscillations at Low Frequency) is a res-rnonant scattering spectrophotometer installed aboard thernESA/NASA SoHO (Solar and Heliospheric Observatory)rnspacecraft. Due to occasional malfunction of the polar-rnization mechanisms switching between the two wings ofrnthe Na solar prou0002le, its nominal working program wasrnchanged to a single-wing conu0002guration a few months af-rnter the launch. In the present work we compare the re-rnsultant power-spectrum estimators of the u0002rst 74 days ofrndata where both wings were measured but analyzed withrnthe single-wing procedure. We then show the evolutionrnof the instrument during the past 8 years in which the in-rnstrument was measuring two times in the blue wing andrnone in the red.
