Abstract: The evolution of the main parameters of the intracavity laser radiation oscillating in a Gaussian-cavity applied to a XeCl laser, has been experimentally investigated. It has been found that the temporal evolution of the main laser beam parameter was well approximated by the evolution of a Shell-Gaussian model beam propagating in a bare Gaussian cavity, even if the intensity profiles of the oscillating radiation were quite affected by XeCl laser gain characteristics. !4
