In the last years, a growing concern has been observed with respect to the inappropriate disposal of industrial residues. In this context, the environmental agencies are becoming stricter on the generators of residues. Then, becomes imperative the search of a sustainable development that assures the capacity of support of the environmental system. The impossibility or lack of option of treatment of a certain residue and the desire of elimination of the environmental risk leads to the choice different techniques, such as: incineration, encapsulating and co-processing in industrial furnaces. The idea of the residues co-processing in the cement furnaces is the substitution of part of the fuel used by an alternative one (residue) that is capable to provide energy gain without changing the gases emissions and the quality of the produced clinker. Based on these premises, becomes opportune the study of the effects of the residues co-processing on cement properties.
