On the dimension of fractally encoded images

We analytically derive the box-counting dimension of the attrator of a class of fractally encoded images. This method can be used to quickly partition an attractor derived from an image into regions of differing fractal dimension. It's important to note, however, that the dimension is computed for the attractor, not the original image.
