An investigation has been made of the effects of solute carbon and hot band microstructure on the deep drawability and recrystallization texture formation in Ti-added ultra-low carbon cold-rolled sheet steels. The mean r-value in annealed sheet deteriorates with the existence of solute carbon or coarsening of ferrite grain size in the hot band, respectively. The peak of orientation density on theγ -fiber decreases and shifts from {111}<112> to {111}<110>, especially in the former case. The comparatively coarse ferrite grain size in the hot band affected the formation of the recrystallization texture mainly through the change in cold-rolling texture. On the other hand, the influence of solute carbon on the macroscopic cold-rolling texture was not so apparent when the ferrite grain size of the hot band was small enough.
