Paper MOisture Soft Sensor and Its Application in low Basis weight Paper Machine

摘要

Soft sensors are virtual sensors - generally implemented by software - that replace the measurement of momentary or permanently unavailable sensors. In paper making process, paper moisture and basis are two important control criteria. But there is still no reliable low basis-weight papepr moisture on line measurement instrument produced in China at present. this paper first discusses the strategy for the development of soft sensors from the viewpoint of Modern Design Methodology. Then according to the mechanism analysis, a mathematical model for the low basis weight paper moisture is set up. The system built by using the output of the moisture soft ensor as feedback signal is also given. The final results have been satisfactory.
