A node-capture attack in sensor network is that an attacker can eavesdrop on a link between two uncompromised nodes when some nodes are captured. In the Eschenauer-Gligor random key predistribution (RKP), one can enhance the resilience of node-capture attack by decreasing the number of keys stored in sensor nodes; however this will reduce the connection probability of any two nodes sharing one common key. This paper introduces a novel key predistribution scheme based on a so-called q-composite RKP to support multilevel security (MLS), i.e., different resilient abilities, for nodes according to their location, traffic and importance. Our new framework with MLS feature is more responsive to real sensor network environment.
